OUTLINE OF GNM (The Science of Caring)General Nursing and Midwifery course is of 3 years and 6 months duration. Annual intake of 50 students. It is required that every student should attend all classes and practicals held in each subject in whom she is examined. There are three examinations, viz., First Year, Second Year, Third Year and Internship of six months. Annual and biannual examination are held in September/October and March/April. Internship Period
26 weeks / six months Internship Period.
Evaluation
For internal assessment, students are evaluated every month by practical demonstration, assignments, class test.
Pass Marks
In order to get through subject a candidate must secure 50% in theory and practical as pass marks.
Students must have pass Senior Secondary/ Higher Secondary Part II (class 12th) Examination of 10+2 stream or equivalent examinations from a recognized statutory Board /University.
Preference will be given to the candidates who have passed the 12th class examinations with science subjects and have secure 40% (10+2 Marks card), Adm. Critena GNM .
The applicants at the time of admission must have completed the age of 17 years and should not be above 35 years. The admission procedure is finalized by interview and 12th Merit basis.

Hostel Room Rent
Two bedded room Rs.750/-per head per month.

Affiliation Status
The Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education is affiliated with Punjab Nurses Registration Council recognized by Indian Nursing Council Delhi.
The annual intake of the students is 50.
The present strength of the institute is 133 + internship students.
Students of Nursing Institute are actively participating in various programmes like Camps, Pulse Polio Immunization, Family Welfare Programme in collaboration with other agencies, National HIV Aids Programme and other co-curricular activities like annual sport meet, W.H.O, Nurses Day etc.
The staff and Institute take part in periodic and annual meetings and also take part in S.N.A, T.N.A.I conferences.
